What happened?
In the beginning of August, a terrible flash flood hit Historic Ellicott City and caused several injuries and two deaths. This was worse than any of the past floods, and Ellicott City is even now struggling to recover. First floors of most of the stores were completely destroyed, as well as many people's cars and other outdoor things such as telephone poles. Because of the construction to repair everything, the businesses in this area are struggling to stay afloat. These people are really in need of our help now.
What We Did to Help
We were saddened to see the terrible damage in Historic Ellicott City. Luckily, we came up with a way to help. We ran Bots for Main Street, a SuGO workshop to raise money for the Ellicott City businesses affected by the flood. It was a resounding success and we were so glad to help the people in the community.
